Abernethy Witch Hunt Walks
Our friends at the Museum of Abernethy produced a leaflet, in partnership with Perth and Kinross Heritage Trust, which introduces people to the dark history of Witch hunts and trials in Abernethy.
Clay Biggins O' The Carse
Learn more about the unique built heritage of the Carse of Gowrie, including the clay buildings and natural resources which have been used across thousands of years by our ancestors.

Dunkeld's Telford Bridge
2007 marked the 250th anniversary of the birth of Thomas Telford, one of the greatest civil engineers of the 19th century. Telford was responsible for building hundreds of miles of roads and around a thousand bridges, of which the Dunkeld Bridge is a most magnificent example.

The Earthquake House, Comrie
In 1840 the British Association for the Advancement of Science
resolved to set up a committee to study earthquakes. Much of the Committee’s work involved devising and placing instruments to record the earthquakes. In the 1840s a number of instruments, mostly based on the pendulum principle, were placed in and around Comrie.

Forteviot: The Birth of Alba
The recent work of the Strathearn Environs and Royal Forteviot (SERF) Project, and other sources, have highlighted Forteviot
as a major Pictish royal centre from the mid-9th century AD, with the area firstly becoming important to them as a regional ceremonial centre from the 8th century.

Historic Perth
Set in the heart of Scotland, and located at the lowest historical bridging point on the River Tay, Perth has grown from a medieval market and trading town to become the vibrant focus for leisure and business activity in Perthshire.

Kettins Cross Slab
The Kettins Cross Slab is one of the largest examples of the Pictish form of insular stone monuments.

Kilmagadwood Early Bronze Age Cemetery
In 1946, a horse ploughing a field near the Scotlandwell to Kinnesswood road sank its hoof into a hollow and through the base of an upturned urn containing cremated human remains. Little did people know then that the urn was part of a large, 4000 year old Early Bronze Age cemetery. Read all about the discovery and our project in this specially produced leaflet.
Kinfauns - Carving a Unicorn
The unique carved Unicorn, a prominent feature of Kinfauns Old Parish Church, was restored as part of wider conservation works undertaken as part of the Tay Landscape Partnership.

King's Seat Hillfort
King’s Seat hillfort is situated on a prominent hilltop above an important bend in the River Tay at Dunkeld. The three seasons of fieldwork we undertook from 2018 unearthed an amazing selection of early historic artefacts and radio carbon dated features suggest that King’s Seat was an important centre of local power with influence over the trade and production of high status goods in the early historic/Pictish period (c.600-900 AD). Historic Graveyards
Historic churchyards have often been repositories of both sacred and secular life for centuries. Our two-year project, carried out from 2011-2013, had the aim of exploring the wealth of information held in the graveyards about places, events and people in Strathmore and the Carse of Gowrie. Perth Medieval Trail
Perth was one of Scotland’s most important medieval royal burghs. Many trade routes met here and ships arrived on high tides from England and the continent. Perth’s craftsmen were rich, skilled and influential and the markets flourished. While little of medieval Perth survives above ground, there is still evidence of this important past throughout the city centre.
